joins other national organizations in denouncing the passage of Senate Bill 1070 and
subsequent House Bill 2281 in Arizona. The law, also known as Support Our Law
Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act, will be in effect 90 days after the legislative

Pi Chapter (Yale University) Hermana and TFA Corps Member Marisol León featured on No. 1 Spanish-Language Morning Show

Marisol León (Los Angeles Corps '08) and her seventh grade students appeared on Univision's Despierta America, the country's most popular Spanish-language morning show. The segment focused on the impact Hispanic college graduates can have when they return to their communities as teachers. Leon, who graduated from Yale in 2007, is teaching in the Mid-City neighborhood, at the middle school she attended as a child.

Theta Beta Collects Supplies for Dominican Republic School

Since 2002, Providence's Theta Beta Chapter of Sigma Lambda Upsilon / Señoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, Inc. has been coordinating an annual donation drive for a school based in the Dominican Republic. The goal this year is to provide each student with his / her own book bag and all the basic items necessary for classroom learning.
